Albert Damantang Camara (born 1964) is an influential Guinean politician. Graduated in business law and commercial management, he first made a career in a bank in France before returning to Guinea in 1999 to work for Total and then set up his own consulting firm.

A member of Alpha Condé's ruling RPG party, he held key ministerial positions as government spokesman, Minister of Technical Education and Labour from 2012 to 2018, then Minister of Security from 2019 to 2021. Known for his ability to gather and communicate, but also criticized for suspicions of misappropriation, he was briefly suspended in 2022 before being released. The grandson of a close friend of Sékou Touré, this experienced man remains an influential political figure in Guinea.

Minister

From 2010 to 2018, Albert Damantang Camara was Minister of Technical Education, Vocational Training, Employment and Labour. During this period, it carried out several reforms aimed at improving the educational system in Guinea and promoting the employability of young people. His hard work and dedication earned him recognition both nationally and internationally.

In November 2019, Albert Damantang Camara was appointed Minister of Security and Civil Protection, a strategic position he held until September 2021. Unfortunately, in April 2022, Albert Damantang Camara was found guilty and prosecuted for alleged acts of misappropriation of public money, illicit enrichment, corruption and laundering.
