Childhood and Education

Raised by a father committed to education and religion, Ibrahima Sorel Keita has benefited from strict guidance and continuous school support. From childhood he attended private classes after school and learned the Quran and Arabic on weekends. This rigour forged his character and his love for studies, making him a brilliant student.

Ibrahima Sorel Keita studied international law at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne to obtain her Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) in 1987. He then obtained his Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) in Business Law from Paris XIII Villetaneuse University in 1988. Ibrahima Sorel Keita is a PhD student in Public Affairs Law, International Economic Law.

Start of professional career

After graduating in France, Ibrahima Sorel Keita became one of the youngest law professors at the University of Villetaneuse at the age of 27. At the same time, he engaged in student syndicalism, defending the rights of foreign students. This experience has strengthened his sense of justice and equity, values that will guide his professional and militant journey.

Prolific writer

Passionate about writing since childhood, Ibrahima Sorel Keita has published several books, including a collection of poems that sold 10,000 copies, a record at the time. His talent as a writer was praised by many African artists, who encouraged him to devote himself more to writing.

Volenteering

Ibrahima Sorel Keita has chaired several renowned associations, such as Banlieue du Monde, SOS Racisme and SFM (Solidarity Training Mobilization). His dedication to the defence of human rights and the integration of young people has been recognized by many awards, including the Knighthood of the National Order of Merit awarded by Nicolas Sarkozy.

As President of Suburbs of the World, Ibrahima Sorel Keita has led international solidarity projects in Africa, bringing young people from European suburbs to work with their African counterparts. This initiative was aimed at strengthening links between communities and promoting sustainable development.

Ibrahima Sorel Keita has served as vice president and president of SOS Racisme, a flagship association in the fight against racism and discrimination in France. His unwavering commitment to equal rights marked his transition to the leadership of this iconic organization.

As Chairman of SFM, Ibrahima Sorel Keita has contributed to the vocational insertion and training of young people, especially those from immigration. Under his leadership, the NGO has seen remarkable growth, from about ten to a hundred employees.

CNT member in Guinea

Ibrahima Sorel Keita played a decisive role in the political transition in Guinea. As chairman of the Collective for the Transition in Guinea (CTG), he fought a fierce battle for the rule of law and the organization of free and transparent elections.

Following the coup d'état of 5 September 2021, which overthrew the regime of Alpha Condé, Ibrahima Sorel Keita was appointed chairman of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the National Transitional Council (CNT). In this crucial role, he works for the defence of the interests of the Guinean diaspora and the promotion of the country's international relations.

Defender of freedoms and human rights

Thro his career, Ibrahim Sorel Keita fought for freedom of expression, democracy and respect for human rights in Guinea. Despite criticism of his insufficient involvement in denouncing human rights violations during the current transition, he reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to these causes.

In a spirit of dialogue and non-confrontation, he works closely with the Chairman of the CNT to promote an inclusive transition and fair and transparent elections. His ultimate objective is to see Guinea regain normal democratic functioning, with legitimate institutions and a free press.

ALBCA Fondation

Driven by a deep desire to improve the living conditions of the poorest in Guinea, Ibrahima Sorel Keita recently launched the ALBCA Foundation. This initiative aims to support orphanages, precarious families and people in precarious situations by providing financial and material assistance.

Through this foundation, Ibrahima Sorel Keita hopes to help reduce poverty and provide a better future for the most vulnerable in his country. He thus calls upon all goodwill to join in this noble cause, so that Guinea can become a prosperous country where it is good to live.
